Training a new generation of muralists.
The London School of Muralism is the only school of its kind in the world. We teach our students to bring art to the streets, engaging others in their creative process. This helps their muralism practice to be financially sustainable while making meaningful contributions to society through transforming our shared spaces.
Artmongers have produced more than 20 murals in South London over two decades and they have teamed up with other top professionals in the field, the likes of Lionel Stanhope, Gary Drostle and Adee (Artful Dodger) to deliver an inspiring course. We also invited our Graduates to teach at the course, the likes of Liv Wright from 34Bus, Shauna Blanchfield and Nadina Ali. We give half scholarships to all our students in order to keep the course accessible and to give the opportunity to people traditionally underrepresented in the arts.
Full time fee £750 Part time fee £650 (free with global south artist scholarship!)
The new short course will give training in identifying spaces, finding local groups to work with in participatory processes, leading a design process, painting as a team, fundraising, evaluating and maintaining the artwork. By the end of the course, all students would have lead their own participatory mural and been involved in one large scale mural project led by Artmongers, location to be confirmed.
